I'm writing this review as a warning to others: beware of this series' excruciatingly slow pace and unnecessary flashbacks. What could have been a compelling narrative wrapped up in 20 episodes has been dragged out for no apparent reason.
From the start, the show's slow pace has been a major turn-off. The creators seem to think that dwelling on every character's facial expressions for an eternity will add depth to the story.
But the slow pace is only the beginning. The real problem lies in the excessive use of flashbacks. It's as if the creators think we, the audience, have memory lapses and need constant reminders of past events. Every character, at some point, imagines the same scene, rehashing the same information we've already seen. It's repetitive, unnecessary, and downright frustrating.
I'm not asking for a breakneck pace or a complete absence of flashbacks. What I do expect is some semblance of balance and restraint. Use flashbacks sparingly, when they actually add something new to the narrative. Don't waste our time with redundant reminders of events we've already witnessed.
Furthermore, the show's overreliance on character reactions and flashbacks has led to a lack of meaningful plot progression. Episodes feel like they're dragging on, with little to no advancement of the story. It's like the show is stuck in limbo, unable to move forward.
In conclusion, this series has been a disappointing experience. The slow pace, excessive flashbacks, and lack of plot progression have made it a chore to watch. If you value your time and prefer shows that respect your intelligence, I'd advise you to steer clear of this series.
