Commentaire à la une
Full disclosure – I watched this short video because writer/director Natalie Morales is insanely good looking and I was so taken by her character in Parks & Recreation that I ended up looking up what else she had done and spotted she had one directing credit under her belt. The short is really just a music video for a band I have never heard of (Killmama) and a track I had never heard before (as the title). The music is decent although not really to my taste but I did quite enjoy the film visually. The film is mostly made up of shots of the main characters from the front, watching as they prepare for what seems to be a date of some sort but could be more "professional" than that.
The framing of the action is clean and nicely done; the jump cut editing style was good in moderation although I do think it overused it (even within a film this short). Visually it is interesting though and it kept me watching even though the actual story and characters were not clear. Ultimately it is just a music video and the key thing it needs to do is work with the music, which it does while also showing some interesting style and eye from Morales.
