REVIEW BASED ON PS5 CONSOLE:
Throne and Liberty is not a bad MMO, but it could use improvement; then again, what game couldn't being as young as it is.
It is a good mixture between a sandbox RPG and a guild RPG. One thing I do admire is that the player is NOT forced to participate in party dungeons to progress in the story. I think this is a wise game feature, to fit all those who play. I was able to invite my friend to the game due to this. She does not like MMOs that force you to do anything that involves the story, which this title does not.
There is some improvements and bugs that need to be ironed out (which I'm sure they will). One of them is when I hooked on to a ring with my grappling hook, it would register that I fell, and I would die immediately, and the other is that it would place my character 10 seconds behind where he was (almost like severe lag).
Another issue is the targeting system and spell casting is somewhat clunky on console. It isn't terrible and can be tolerated. It isn't beyond repair like some titles.
They have some work ahead of them, but keep in mind this review is from PS5 console and the game is very young.
All in all this game is very fun and you'll never run out of things to do, because my lord, there's enough. It may seem tedious at first, but once the player gets the hang of things, it becomes very addicting and keeps you busy, wanting to play more. This will have an exceptional affect on completionist gamers.
It is a fun game with acquired taste. I'd give it a try if I were a MMO fan, which I am. I believe the bugs will improve with future updates.
Good game.
