Originally released as "Sielun ruokaa" on Finnish television in April 15, 2013 at Yle TV1 channel, running 55 minutes. The original version is known internationally as "Soul Food". A longer, re-edited version was released internationally in 2013 with the new title "Soul Food Stories", running 68 minutes. It was released in Finland in 2016 with the title "Ruokaa ja ystäviä". The longer version omits the scenes shot in Finland (along with Finnish narration) with the Juola family, focusing more on the life and people of the Bulgarian village.
