Bone Tomahawk is a 2015 western-horror written and directed by S. Craig Zahler and starring Kurt Russell, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Fox and Richard Jenkins.
So, this movie can be a bit corny at some times and seem a bit mechanical. Kurt Russell is great, a lot of reviews praise Matthew Fox but I wasn't overly impressed by him. This film is set in the old west, but it's basically a rescue mission. When some of the town folk are abducted by troglodytes (cave dwellers) with a penchant for human meat, a rescue team assembles. The mission to hunt them down and rescue their loved ones proves to be very difficult because they have to deal with a race against time, a crippled man, and being outnumbered.
While it drags a bit in the middle, it makes up for it in the end. It's not for those with weak stomachs, it's bloody, violent, and filled with gore. It's my humble opinion that this is a movie that you should see, but not with your young ones, mom, or girlfriend. This is definitely a 'man's movie' that defies the western stereotype.
