If you are a famous Chinese martial artist about to celebrate your fiftieth birthday you must make other plans besides the party. If you have offended anyone in all your years you can expect them to return on your birthday for revenge. The guy in this movie did not consider he had offended someone and he ended up dead on his birthday. A loyal servant escaped with the son. The son grows up and learns martial arts and that's basically the whole plot here.
The opening fight starts at about the eight minute mark and continues relentlessly for about sixteen more minutes. I really enjoyed this opening sequence. For 1969 it was as good as fight sequences get.
Over all this is another average movie from the golden age of martial arts movies, 1967 to 1984. It is suitable for viewing only if you are a fan of this genre. There are no special moments or anything that makes it memorable in any way and on the other hand nothing to complain about either. So if you like this sort of thing – here you go!
