Everything is brilliantly shown. Emotions were at their best. Showed slavery and a vehement struggle of Indians to get out of it.
Thangalan wasn't greedy for the gold. He was only trying to sustain and survive. He was only trying to free his people from the chains of slavery.
Pa Ranjit successfully placed the references of Buddha and his teachings on the screen. Buddha was against untouchability and people who followed untouchability called Buddha an evil man.
It always amazes me when oppression is ruling the masses, every hero who tries to break the shackles instantly becomes a symbol of evil in the eyes of oppressors.
My favourite scenes in the movie
1. The bond between William and Ashoka
There was no untouchability between them. Their friendship, even though lasted for few minutes, it was splendid and cherishable.
2. Vikaram wants to live with dignity atleast for a day then to live like a slave for hundred years. That's what he teaches his followers.
Climax fight is at its best. Loved the entire movie thoroughly.
