My Scary Movix

It probably seemed like a good idea: a French porn video in the manner of the popular SCREAM and SCARY MOVIE series. But this routine effort by one of Marc Dorcel's chief hacks (director Francois Regis) is strictly sex.

Its nearly 2-hour running time does contain considerable dialog and non-sex situations but they are 100% filler. Unless the girls are doing what they're paid to do, MOVIX is neither scary nor funny.

Melissa Lauren gets top billing because she's big on top -the beauty who has graced hundreds of American porn videos is at home with French lingo and anal sex. She's surrounded by less attractive femmes, but her fan base should eat this one up.

Nominal plot has four girls including Melissa on a camping trip with two studs. Some jealousy erupts when a fifth girl is added to the menage, and film lags seriously in the middle as the guys are diverted by the antics of four lesbians nearby (they prove to be bisexual, natch).

It isn't till the final reel that the promised suspense and/or horror is toyed with, in the tradition of these idiotic Friday THE 13TH clones. But helmer Regis doesn't deliver -just more sex.

Dorcel has attracted a loyal following in over three decades of cranking out these hot-babe-littered and often glamorous Euro trash porn videos. With better scripts and greater care he might escape the assembly-line feel that curses MOVIX and most of his product, and actually elevate the artistic level of contemporary porn.
