Cougars of Boobsville

False and misleading advertising is a fine art, and this big-breasts video caught me napping for the umpteenth time. The honchos at Adam & Eve Pictures were pretty subtle and I fell for their hidden come-on like a ton of bricks.

On the back of the packaging are listed as appearing in non-sex roles: Veronica Hart, Sharon Kane and (irrelevantly) Max Spanktum. In the opening credits add to these two classic porn actresses another all-time favorite Jeannie Pepper. Sure they're not the huge-breasted stars of the feature, but I looked forward to seeing them again after so many years and was sorely disappointed.

The aura of fakery extends to the inevitable behind-the-scenes bonus short subject on the DVD, where the actual stars of the film pretend to be actual residents of the fictional town of Boobsville. Their inane and cutesy remarks aren't funny, just stupid, and who is supposed to believe in all this crap? Former flunky turned director Jim Malibu turned me off in so many ways.

The titular stars (pun intended) are interesting if overly campy in this assignment. Their best footage, non-sex of course, is saved for another 18-minute short subject which shows the girls, in groups of 3 (at a bar/restaurant) and two (in the sauna) chatting idiotically but extemporaneously and in character. All that gab had to go, with just a few seconds retained as set-up for sex flashbacks in the feature proper.

Cougar action is predictable, as the well-preserved ladies seduce younger fellas. Diamond Foxxx and Daphne Rosen are on the young side as the ladies, but who's counting?

The sex scenes are okay, if uninspired, and Rosen's very campy approach is certainly entertaining. If Malibu had any brains he would have played up the presence on set of his hall of fame retired talent and given them some diverting character roles to play. But no, Pepper is completely absent, not even mentioned again in the closing credits. Hart and Kane are both doubling on the production staff (stylist and production manager, respectively), and with Max Spanktum getting a close-up or two as a bartender, the duo sit at the bar, Hart with her back to the camera. To get a big credit for such tiny extra roles is insulting, and in porn ridiculous when often large parts go uncredited. In the 18- minute short, Hart actually turns around momentarily to show her kisser in long shot to the camera.
