"Serenity Cut" title was simply a placeholder name/title chosen by the director, just to differentiate from the 'Director's Cut" version. The word "Serenity" itself was chosen because of the calming yet bittersweet and sincere nature of the film.

Gaffes
Some behind the scenes footage and clips on the internet reveals that some of the shot were taken with an unusual technic that somewhat controversial to some filmmakers due to the film resulting many awards and achievement with it.
