Interesting, edifying documentary

On 19 February 1945 US Marines stormed ashore on the Japanese-held island of Iwo Jima. The brutal five-week battle that follows will go down in Marine legend.

A very interesting documentary, detailing the Battle of Iwo Jima. Shows well just how tough an assignment it was for the US forces, the practical difficulties they faced, the tenacity of the Japanese defenders and the hard slog it was for every bit of ground. Also details the incredible bravery of many of the Marines.

Well-narrated with relevant, insightful interviews and decent graphics and archival footage.
