An hour long anthology about clowns set on Halloween by prolific trash-filmmaker Dustin Ferguson? I'm worried...
Story 1 - a group of 30-year old 'teenagers' partying in a garage summon the ghost of a cannibal killer clown... named Gilbert Gacy. He arrives and kills them.
Story 2 - A dude sees a clown doll at a store. It then appears in his home where he has a Halloween party. The doll possesses the dude and makes him kill his friends.
Story 3 - A lady goes to a carnival. She goes home and carves a pumpkin and makes a sandwich. A guy in a clown mask stalks her. Will he kill her??
Look, Dustin obviously has a deep love of 70s and 80s horror. But just because you love something doesn't mean you can replicate it.
Every so often his ridiculous titles and admittedly good cover artwork makes me take a risk. To date I've seen around 15 things he's put out and I can honestly say I've enjoyed none of them. Why do I keep punishing myself? Maybe that's a me-problem.
If I can say anything positive about this movie, unlike many of his others I've seen, there isn't as much endless filler scenes here. Don't get me wrong, you could easily trim 20 minutes from this of things that drag, but if you've seen something like his Zombie VIII that is comprised of at least 50% random stock footage, you'll know where I'm coming from.
If you're going to watch this, you better have a fortitude of Z-grade trash. Still, there's worse out there. Faint praise.
