Foxtrot

Stuart Canterbury is a veteran pornographer who has always been overrated, but like the tortoise he has outlasted many of the touted Adult Cinema "visionaries", and this way-better than usual Penthouse release exemplifies his prowess.

Unlike the typical Penthouse video, it has a real story, rather than the label's lifeless vignettes. Steven St. Croix is tasked with finding the missing offspring to get their signatures on the dotted line and resolve the status of a valuable estate, and like a private eye he travels all over the place to dig up the pretty girls who may have a fortune in their future.

Operating on a minor suspense platform, the feature is all about sex of course, but I found myself carrying about St. Croix and the various characters he meets. Casting expertly has contrasting types among the femmes, ranging from the alt-beauty of Veronika Jett to the more typical bombshell look of Katie Morgan. That wonderful youngster Lindsey Meadows has the leading role and is extremely empathetic. Uncredited script keeps one guessing on how Steven's quest will be resolved, and the film has a quite satisfying ending.

Canterbury shows that creativity need not be abandoned when doing this type of high-concept Adult Entertainment.
