A trifle compared to Paul Thomas's most elaborate period features for Vivid Video like Artemesia, this porn-parody of a fairy tale "The Pied Piper of Hamelin" is fun though clearly out of step with what his audience wants to see.
Namely, the many sex scenes (several of which are intercut in the old '70s porn format) are rather abbreviated, not the endless, real-time approach to which porn has devolved.
Raylene plays the Pied Piper, wandering into a village at the 30-minute mark of the short feature (75 mins., total running time) where the peasant women are fed up with their lazy and abusive menfolk. They've tried to rebel against the cads at least a couple dozen times, but failed.
Ray offers them magic flutes with which to tame the men, and it works, turning them into submissives who service the ladies and do their bidding: even the traditional women going to a stream to wash the clothing is now a duty of the men.
But as in the fable, they fail to pay Ray the Piper for her services, so she plays her flute and entrances the men, who follow her out of the village (an amusing shot of a dozen nude men marching out to the stream, their cocks tied together by ribbons like a sexual chain gang). No men ever come to the village again, and a clever final shot delineates the curse on the cheapskate ladies.
The beautiful cast including Dasha, Venus and Renee La Rue is easy on the eyes, and perhaps the project would have played better as softcore, given the decision not to emphasize endless XXX footage. Use of modern vernacular in the dialogue, as well as the label's safe-sex strict use of condoms detract from the story and atmosphere, though location filming in 35mm is a plus. Dozens of extras, several of whom have dialogue, go uncredited unfortunately.
