The literal translation of the title of this movie is: Chicken that Falls into Water.
Contrary to the general believe, the Chinese Communist Party practiced capitalism before the revolution, and continued such practice for half a decade after the revolution, faithfully following the Marxist teaching of capitalism cannot be skipped in the transition to socialism. (In fact, this was just Lenin did in his New Economic Policy after the Russian Civil War, until Stalin abolished this capitalist practice by implementing Collectivization, which resulted in millions of death of farmers due to starvation).
The result of such capitalist practice in China was the boom in economy contributed greatly by the increase in agricultural output, that is, until 1956, when Mao decided to follow Stalin's step to replace the communes with collectives so that China could enter socialism faster. This movie is one of the propaganda piece for Mao's disastrous decision, and thus deserves a zero out of ten.
