Overwrought Story, Excellent Performance

Lyda Borelli was born among the lowest class of humanity. Because of this she was required to dance for "gentlemen", and other things too, since she bore a child. He abandoned him. But a lucky meeting during her travails impelled her to reform. Reformation may bring many things; it may bring wealth and titles. It does not, however, bring happiness.

The plot is a long series of coincidences that offer Signorina Borelli ample opportunity to offer her displays of emotions in many different costumes and walks of life. Almost all of them are displays of miser, this being a weeper. She offers them very well, and the set designs and costuming are excellent, as is the acting.
