Åke Lindman plays Eino Kustaala, who has to do hard work at the country. He gets sick with that life and wants to leave it behind and move to the city.He goes following the summer guest, Laila (Ilmi Parkkari) he falls for and leaves the real love, the beautiful dairymaid Elina Kivistö (Anneli Sauli) behind. But there's something Eino doesn't know when he leaves; Elina's pregnant and Eino's the father. In the city Eino finds work at the lumberyard. After a while life in the city doesn't seem so pleasant to Eino.Aarne Laine's Kukonlaulusta kukonlauluun (1955) is a nice Finnish movie showing the beautiful countryside.Toivo Kauppinen, also known as Topias, wrote the script.Åke Lindman, the grand master of Finnish cinema, is perfect in the lead.Anneli Sauli, this time with a blonde hair, is brilliant and also very beautiful.Arvo Lehesmaa is terrific as Eino's hard working father Juho Vihtori Kustaala.Tyyne Haarla as Eino's mother Hanna is great. And so is Emma Väänänen as Elina's mother.Aku Korhonen is the greatest as Aaretti Kivistö.He brings comedy to this picture and got the biggest laughs in our family. There are also Pentti Irjala (Man on the dance floor), Uljas Kandolin (Lehtinen, a foreman), Tommi Rinne (Chauffeur), Elsa Turakainen (Anni, a customer at the department store) and Leo Riuttu, who's great as the department store customer and Anni's husband. There are many great moments in this movie, like when Aku Korhonen's character gets drunk and talks to the ants. This movie may not be the classic movie everybody remembers, but it should be.I surely had fun with it.
