The Couch Trap

Having enjoyed a sampling of the 100 plus features made by pornographer Nic Cramer, a big name in the VHS era who's fame has faded away since, I was anxious to see more, but stubbed my toe on "The Couch Trap", as lousy as could be. Here's a hint: it's built entirely around Ron Jeremy hamming it up playing himself, desperate to get a movie gig and to get laid. It turns out to be even worse than I expected.

Ron improvises throughout, trying to be funny and, as usual, failing. Dick Nasty plays his roommate, trying to get in a sarcastic jab of his own once in a while, and the rest of the show is a series of babes auditioning for phony "producer" Ron, hence the title. The sex scenes, involving no-name porn actresses (my favorite being Shelby Stevens, who I wish had been given good roles to play rather than crap like this) are lousy too. Nic takes "Nic Cream" for his screen credit, but as per the familiar cliche, Nic -"you can run but you can't hide".
