It's based on a true story ,but the story lacks realism and does not really convince ;generally cast as the villain (with the notable exception of " Leon" aka "the professional "), the part of a devoted priest was an act of self-renewal for Jean Reno ; Marlee Maltin (oscar -winner for "children of a lesser god" ) plays his deaf sister but she's given an uninteresting role; director Eric Duret casts himself as Pedro, who makes friends with him and helps him to re-build a
deserted old village for the numerous orphans he takes care of , illegally ,should we believe the powers-that -be ;the priest tries to raise the necessary funds by accepting harder wrestling matches ,always wearing a golden mask. But they hadn't reckoned on there being a natural disaster .Anyway faith can move mountains ,they say.
Full of finer feelings ,it's rather dull ,and the wrestling are the only moments which are exciting for these whose taste runs that way.
