While filming this movie, Tino had already announced his decision of leaving the band Parchís to pursue a solo career, as he was already 16 years old and wanted to do more grown-up music. In doing so, he had frustrated plans for the band, who, after their massive success in Latin America, had been given a chance by Disney to go to the USA and be launched in the American market with a movie and a music contract, a deal they lost because they wanted the band with Tino to sign the contract. The rest of the members of the band got so angry at Tino that they stopped talking to him, and they didn't talk to him while filming this movie, only joining for filming and doing separate lives on the set otherwise. Tino's choice ultimately meant the end of both Parchís (even though they lasted for a few years more with recruitments, they never had the same success as with Tino) and Tino's own career, as his recording company, Belter, and the ones that had encouraged him to go solo, closed on bankruptcy two years later.
