Funny and fun Paco Martinez Soria vehicle with great entertainment and amusement enough . It is an agreeable picture concerning the silly adventures of an unfortunate as well as botcher sixty-and-some-year-old man going to visit his son in Mexico , but things get worse . As Ramón (Paco Martínez Soria) is fed up with his wife Socorro (Florinda Chico) wanting to see him dressed up and forbidding him food for his health . When he leaves Madrid and arrives in Mexico to attend the wedding of his son Carlos (Fernando Luján), Ramón takes advantage of the country's legislation to ask his wife for a divorce. Paco Martínez Soria believes himself to be a very happy veteran with his new divorce . Once there , he only encounters a bustling Mexican city and he has a lot of problem . When he notices that he is not very good at flirting with young girls and that his wife's advice was not entirely misguided , he becomes frustrated in his new condition.

The flick interweaves fun comedy along with a social criticism about the Mexican social habits . Based on a play from the 1930s written by Pedro Muñoz Seca and Pedro Pérez Fernández ("Anacleto Se Divorcia"), this film creates its comic gags with an outdated anti-divorce orientation . This movie packs customary images of the social life from the Seventies with nutty situations , but it especially contains catching touches of humor , tongue-in-cheek and irony ; adding the typical Mexican and Spanish idiosyncrasy . At the same time it shows a large sightseeing , taking place a tourist tour of he populous capital, Mexico D. F. , or the touristy Acapulco , in which there is no lack of the habitual images of diving in La Quebrada .It includes an atmospheric and functional cinematography by Fernando Colín . And an evocative and catching musical score by Antón García Abril , with soundtrack typical of the sixties and early seventies , adding some Mexican songs . Only for fans of Martínez Soria that may enjoy it.

He was a prolific director and writer , specially known for Los Chicos del Preu (1967), María Morena (1951), Cuerda De Presos (1956) and Posición Avanzada (1966). Pedro was a craftsman , a notorious director and writer who directed all kind of genres such as Peplum : Siete Espartanos , Wartime : Cuerda De Presos , Posicion Avanzada , Torrepartida , La Patrulla ; Drama : Rostro De Asesino , Otro Arbol De Guernica , but especially known for comedies in low budget .
