It starts in 1863 , American Civil War rages in Missouri , the local residentes have formed armed gangs defending themselves from the usual assaults of Union soldiers . A band is led by Butch : Nello Pazzafini , who saves Johs : Peter Lee Lawrence and Cristine : Beba Loncar when are attacked by enemies .Later on , in the ranch , whose powerful owner is Cristine 's crippled father : Andrea Bosic, being killed Johs's brother : Romano Pupo and his wife : Rosaba Neri . Then , Johs seeks vendetta against the murderers. Two years after , at the end of the war Johs is wanted dead or alive , reward 5.ooo dollars in gold coin , as he returns and he faces off Northern captain Clifford , Luigi Vannucchi , and his soldiers who set out in pursuit across the Southern States.
An average Spaghetti with pretty good musical score by Bruno Nicolai , some nice action scenes , appropriate photography , shootouts and ordinary final duel. The picture packs a passable tale with a plot containing some twists and turns. Screenplay by Mario Amendola , a comedy expert , here he gives a moving , thrilling and intriguing script .The roles of Butch played by Nello Pazzafini and his band are based on real life gangs who carried out bloody operations on the large areas of Missouri, as at the film they disguising as Union soldiers and enter at a saloon executing a massacre . The actions of these violent guerrillas were also explored by Clint Eastwood in The outlaw Josey Wales 1976 . The flick is well starred by Peter Lee Lawrence as an avenger who seeks justice , he delivers an acceptable and decent acting in his habitual style . From his uncredited debut in the known Leone film : For a few dollars more , to his early death Lee played a great number of films . German born Peter Lee was a young who acted a lot of Spaghetti , Paella Westerns such as : The man who killed Billy the Kid , Garringo, A pistol for a hundred coffins , Death on high mountain , Awkward hands . His last film was Los caballeros de boton ancla . Shortly after died at 30 year old of cancer. In the film appears some usual genre actors such as : Nello Pazzafini, Romano Puppo, Andrea Bosic , and brief acting by the beautiful Rosalba Neri .
