Anecdotes
Beautiful attention to detail, as typical for cartoons of this era. Although the squirrel's home is not seen for long, its furnishings are perfectly rendered, down to pots and pans hanging on the wall. The same is true for Barney's cabin, with the framed scenic prints and an old-fashioned icebox.

Gaffes
When Barney Bear chops the firewood, there are no growth rings on the ends of the logs. Once the firewood is in the house, some growth rings appear, then immediately disappear again..

The Usual Good Barney Bear Cartoon

Barney Bear allows a squirrel to sleep in his cabin. They don't get along.

Pretty much every description of a Barney Bear cartoon can be summed up in those words "they don't get along", but that's not a problem. That's a formula, and a pretty dependable one. This may not be the best cartoon in the series, but it is a pretty funny one.
