'Weird Al' Yankovic is reported to have written the song based on a leaked script for Star Wars, épisode I : La Menace fantôme (1999), without having seen the film itself (which does explain some details like the mentioning of the ages of the Anakin and Padme characters, though it's never mentioned in the film). However, Weird Al did once state in an interview, that he saw the film shortly before releasing --the 'final version' of the song. Finding out what was really in the film, caused him to make only a few minor changes to the lyrics (The only example he gave was he changed the original lyric "I HEARD he's gonna marry her" to "He's PROBABLY gonna marry her").
