Painful, poorly done, and out-of-touch

Wow is this a terrible documentary. It looks like a '90s training video and celebrates White Saviors. It's also painfully dated (2015) in content and approach. The filmmakers employ every emotional tool they can, but instead of seeming heartfelt, it feels exploitative and manipulative.

Ultimately, the doc argues that "community" comes down to who will give you an envelope of money when the going gets tough. There are no real, applicable solutions provided and no new insights are revealed.

I hope the adults in the film are doing well; this is no reflection on them. I feel they were exploited and continue to be.
