Celebrity chef Paula Deen's spacious Savannah (GA) home doubled as the location of Famke Janssen (Jayne Hunt)'s sprawling waterfront residence.

Gaffes
The movie is set in 1978, which is evidenced in the 70s-era vehicles, and the common usage of revolvers by Chief Walsh (Robert Patrick) and Carson Philips (John Travolta). Yet, during the shootout, at the sanitarium, between Carson and Lorenzo (Blerim Destani), Lorenzo is clearly shooting a Glock pistol (visible beginning at around 1 hour 18 min, when Lorenzo is shooting from behind the pickup truck), a weapon for which design work would not begin until 1979, let alone enter service in 1982 with the Austrian military and police. In fact, as the scene progresses, it appears it might even be a 2nd or 3rd generation Glock pistol.

Entertaining alternative to typical Hollywood

Despite several clunky scenes and some predictability in the storyline, it was an entertaining 2 hours, thanks in part to Brendan Fraser's hysterical performance and classic Morgan Freeman. John Travolta could use a few pointers on his southern-drawal, but he's still fun to watch. The slow, dim noir feel works, but who wouldnt recognize the fountain and gorgeous homes as Savannah not Galvaston. Overall worth a date night if looking alternative to the canned showboat superhero movies and shallow violent films with limited vocabularies.
