I'm a nerd, big ol' geek features and I'm proud of it. And part of my credentials is a love for Marvel, but Captain America is one of the most boring overrated characters so this documentary immediatly had an uphill battle.
Standing at just over 40 minutes long it has 75yrs of history to cover and all things considered it does it well (Though a tad rushed).
It tells Caps origin and creation, marquee storylines and moments throughout his history, connection to real life events and politics, all the way through the modern day Marvel Cinematic Universe.
I think they've done a fantastic job here and fans of Steve Rogers will find this an absolute delight. For me I'm glad it was short, but considering how much material it had to cover I'd personally have said it should have been double the length. Why have a person being interviewed if you are only going to use a single 3 second soundbite? Nobody puts Ming Na-Wen in a corner *Shakes fist*
Well made, very thorough and essential viewing for fans of the spandex wearing icon.
The Good:
Very thorough
Some great interviews
The Bad:
Some interviewees are wasted
Too short
Things I Learnt From This Movie:
The September 11 Captain America story perhaps shouldn't have been a thing
John McCain is Captain America
