Plaistow, Essex, England, 26 March 1952), Roman Catholic, Member of Parliament for Basildon (9 June 1983 - 1 May 1997) and Member of Parliament for Southend West (1 May 1997 - present), Knight Bachelor (2015 New Year Honours), Member of the Imperial Society of Knights Bachelor, and wife Julia Arnold.
