The trailer of this film itself looked so promising and exciting that I knew I was gonna love it but when I actually watched it, I loved it much much more than I expected!
There's something so special about this movie that keeps you glued to the screen right from the first frame till the end. It is written and directed by Sajid Ali with a lot of heart and passion and that is clearly seen throughout the film. It may not be the same environment you grew up in but surprisingly you'll find it very relatable at many places..at least I did. May be because it talks about these very basic, very pure feelings, experiences that we all go through during our school and college days..it's amazing how it pulls you in so beautifully and after a while you start feeling like you're actually living in that world right now! All the performances are also top notch including the ensemble cast. Adarsh Gourav is very natural and perfectly delivers what's required in his character. Sanjana Sanghi is this little ball of energy that lights up the screen every time she comes on it. But the 'hero' of the film literally in every sense is Rohit Saraf! We all know that he is an amazing performer and has this magical screen presence but what he has done in this film has blown my mind. He has an interesting character arc and he carries the film so beautifully. He portrays so many different emotions with such finesse and ease, the dialogue delivery, the dialect, the body language is on point. Considering it was his first ever feature film that he shot for I think he has done a brilliant job. Special mention for the absolutely beautiful soundtrack. I got to hear such pure, beautiful melodies after a long time and that's definitely a bonus for me.
The film is technically 11 years old and also the time it is set in is 90's..so there are certain things, certain themes, dialogues that are politically incorrect and you will find them regressive but it is understandable , and keeping that aside if you dive into it to enjoy it for it is then I think you'll enjoy it for sure! Overall I thoroughly enjoyed watching #WohBhiDinThe and would highly recommend it to everyone.
