Anecdotes
Tony Jaa was set to play Xian Chow, Kurt Sloane's mentor, but had to drop out due to a schedule conflict. He was replaced by Jean-Claude Van Damme, who played Kurt Sloane in the original Kickboxer (1989).

Gaffes
In the scene where they are escaping from prison and jumping off the second floor into the street (approximately 59 minutes into the film), the stunt crew is clearly visible on the ground with the landing pad for the jump as they climb onto the top of the police truck. When they jump down off the truck, the edge of the pad comes up into the frame.

Its Kickboxer what did you come into this movie thinking? The first one was cheesy what did you expect from this one? This movie is all you remember the original being, pure awesomeness entertainment with some great action who cares about dialogue plot twist and all that other crap people write in reviews to sound like they know something.
