Splatter House

Splatter House is a 2009 short feature Directed by Kyle Rappaport and featuring Douglas Godino. Two friends are renting this house but apparently it is already occupied with flesh eating monsters.

This film is pretty simplistic in its nature as many have been from that time. Pretty much the plot is "kids get eaten". The big difference between this and something like House of Wrathiticus or The Botanist is that this film drags out a little bit longer than it probably needed to. The ending point is almost comical in nature and it kind of takes you out of the film.

The acting is fairly decent for your microbudget film. It isn't AAA movie style acting but it doesn't have to be. It gets across everything that is needed and does the job. With Doug and Kyle doubling up as monsters it does double the work load and they handle it ok.

The visual effects again are very well done. I felt that it was another great work by Doug who does a lot of the gore effects in these things. I feel that many of these are better than a lot of B-Movies released at the time. I would have loved to see what he could have done with other microbudget films back in the day.

In the End Splatter house is a decent overall feature where you get to see people slaughtered. Though it drags a little it is still a good film worth checking out on the Vimeo Splatter Film account.
