Every aspect of this film was hilarious, thus why I'm voting it the funniest comedy of the year. From the laughable choice of color palettes and terrible cinematography, to the annoying score, and the cringeworthy predictable and cliche-riddled screenplay. I'll even say this nonsense qualifies for a Razzie Award. Apparently Elizabeth Blake-Thomas is an award winning director, yet this mess could've been filmed better by a fifth grade drama class.
The action choreography will fill you will eyerolls and cringeworthy laughs, and Blake-Thomas clearly doesn't know how to direct her cast either, because most of the actors seemed like this was their first rodeo. I felt bad for the lovely Mena Suvari having to endure this amateur-hour nonsense, but I feel even worse for the legendary Mickey Rourke, who seemed like he regretted being in this mess, especially towards the end when they had pink blush on his nose and cheeks to make him look like a clown.
The story itself showed promise, but the terrible filmmaking made this a comedy, instead of how it's listed as an action thriller, because the action was the funniest parts, and the thrills were cringeworthy eyerolls. Even at a mere 80 min runtime, the terrible pacing made this feel never-ending. Even the opportunities to have some decent gore effects felt like props and fake blood you'd buy at a Dollar store on Halloween. I'm giving this mess a generous 3/10 for the laughs, and out of pity for the cast who tried their best with the nonsense they had to work with. Even if you're a fan of any of the cast, do yourself a favor and forget this garbage exists.
