The shop location in the film, 'Loving The Gift' in Romford, Essex, is actually said to be haunted. Twenty year old Emily Swallow was found dead in the storage room at the back of the premises in October 1979. She died from a heroin overdose and her body lay undiscovered until her parents returned from holiday, over a week later. The present owners told the filmmakers that they had heard moaning and giggling sounds coming from the back of the shop on a regular basis. Past owners have also reported similar noises in the shop and storage rooms behind the premises. They said that they had felt an ominous presence and seen a shadowy figure, especially when lone working at night.
