Let me preface this with I'm an avid online head to head player. I'm hardline connected to internet to ensure no lag on my end for games. I play MyCareer to change things up every now and then but primarily online versus is where my review stems from.
I hadn't bought nba 2k since 2k16 because every year the reviews from actual fans showed this wasn't worth the money. Well, with the death of Kobe and nostalgia kicking in and the price of $16.99, I figured it was time to pick the sticks up again. If I could get that money back I would.
The game moves in slow motion and anyone who played 2K16 and prior knows they have clearly gone away from making that a great experience for us fans. With that being said, I don't know how anyone could give this game a 4 star or better unless this is your first experience with the 2K series ever.
Also, you tier the online play up and prevent us from using whatever teams we want? If I paid full price for this game and only had access to 10-12 of the teams I would make it my life's work to let these developers know how much they blow.
It's disheartening how bad this game has gotten over the years and I hope one day 2K takes the time to listen to the feedback. For future gamers, I really want for you to experience the 2K I fell in love with and would spend hours playing. But for me, I'm throwing in the towel. Trust these long wonder negative reviews folks. These money grabbers definitely pay for the 10 star reviews they get and that's a damn shame.
