Wacky

Wacky fun as Joan Davis gives this episode all her energy. As an added bonus we see Jim Backus imitating Mr. Magoo, a character he voiced of course. 1950s viewers got the joke.

Oh, and that's character actor Joe Devlin as Rocky Collins, though he's not credited on the show or in this IMDB listing. Devlin appeared in five different episodes of I Married Joan, playing a different character each time. He's the police dispatcher in S3, E8 (Two Saint Bernards) and also the postal cop in S3, E21 (The Letter). Devlin had just come off two seasons of Dick Tracy where he co-starred as Sam Catchem. That show came to an abrupt halt when Ralph Byrd, TV/Radio/Film's Dick Tracy, died in the summer of 1952.
