While waiting for the arrival of his wife Celeste Espírito Santo (Dira Paes) from Germany, the bureaucratic clerk of the Minister of Culture Paulo Estrela (Fabio Nassar) initiates a small talk with the airport receptionist Salete (Ana Paula Arósio). He tells how he met the awarded short movie director Celeste and immediately had a crush one her. Then he tells the development of their unconventional relationship, while trying to raise funds for her first feature film, "Impossible Loves", and how she succeeds to travel to Germany.
"Celeste & Estrela" discloses an unusual triangle of lover among the two lead characters and the love for cinema. The story has the good intention of explaining the process of making a movie, from the idea, development of storyboard, structure of the screenplay, raise of funds, stages of production, distribution etc. Further, there is a great homage to the guru of all screenwriters, Syd Field, called Ted Feld in the plot. Unfortunately the romance does not work well due to the lack of chemistry between Dira Paes and Fabio Nassar. Celeste seems to be using the fool and infatuated Estrela along the whole story; and even Estrela makes a move on the gorgeous receptionist in the end of the story in spite of being married to Celeste. My vote is six.
