To secure the "not under 16" rating from the USK, the German version was modified to remove both the blood and ragdoll effects. The Gold Edition version (also known as Advanced Battlegrounds: The Future of Combat) of this game was fortunately released uncut in Germany.

Overall, a bad game

After playing this game for an hour, I got tired of it. The main character, Logan, and Carrie, the female, hot and smart wannabe side kick, are really *not* made to look like important pieces of the story, the dialogs are completely idiotic, without even mentioning the shallowness of the actors' voices. It's just a sci-fi shooter, in which even villains look the same (as much as I had the patience to play, at least). It got in my hands accidentally, after I got the CDs from a magazine. And I can say I want my hour back :)) Anyway, it was an awful game, so don't waste time playing it. You'd probably have more fun playing The Sims 2 or something.
