Ewan McGregor and his then-wife, Eve Mavrakis, eventually adopted the little girl, Jamyan, that McGregor met in Ulan Baator, Mongolia. As a teenager, she appeared in the successor series, Trajet vers le haut (2020) where she traveled for a few days with her father through Central America.

On its original airing, the series featured seven episodes. The original 2-disc DVD set comprises these original episodes. The show has subsequently been re-edited into a 10-episode series. Notably, the preparation for the trip has been extended over two episodes. There is also additional footage during the trip itself. There is also an entirely new tenth episode, a retrospective of their journey. This extended series has been broadcast on Sky television in the UK, and is also available on a new 3-disc DVD set.

Absolutely mind-blowing

This is the one and only adventure I always fantasized about as a kid and I also used to have a fondness of motorcycling but sadly I never took it up. I just wish they'd spent more time filming in Western Europe before they went on to Eastern Europe and Asia.
