"I am Iron Man" was ad-libbed by Robert Downey Jr.. Producer Kevin Feige approved using it in the final cut of the film, and credits this with his decision to largely do away with secret identities in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Only Spider-Man conceals his identity, while Thor's alter ego, Donald Blake, is similarly not used.

SPOILER: A scene appears after the closing credits: Tony Stark arrives home to find SHIELD director Nick Fury waiting for him so that they can discuss the Avengers Initiative. This leads into Les Avengers: le film (2012) (a superhero team of which Iron Man is a founding member).

Autres versions
German theatrical version was cut (ca. 4 minutes) by distributor Concorde prior to submitting the film to the FSK since they desperately wanted a "Not under 12" rating. Ironically, when submitting the uncut version for the home video release, it was rated "Not under 12" as well, making the cut version even more unnecessary.

Best movie of a hero's origin.

Great movie, which serves as a perfect introduction to Tony Stark's character. The antagonist was a bit boring, but except for that, I loved the movie!
