(1990) Warriors From Hell
ACTION
It's one of those movies viewers read about in newspapers, books, or should be made aware about in South Africa, where peaceful African tribes are forced by the point of the gun to be trained and manipulated into sadistic killers. Co-executive produced, written and directed by Ronnie Isaacs that has ruthless mercenaries invading tribe for the purpose of recruitment. Jacob (Glen Gabela) becoming one of few amongst his group selected to live to serve a sadistic Russian wannabe leader, Darkov (Shayne Leith) while the rest of them are slaughtered and killed. Then at the same token, merc, Matt (Deon Stewardson) wants to break ranks from his merciless group, and as a result of feeling some empathy, he gets himself shot and is left for dead. Meanwhile, during training, Jacob makes a promise to fellow tribeswoman, Marita (Connie Chiume) who is also forced to serve Darkov he has a plan. And upon being ordered to take charge to wipe out another area, he rebels and kills his fellow killers himself, saving and striking up a bond with a white woman, Angie (Adrienne Pearce) whose husband had just been shot and killed. And as soon as Jacob crosses with badly injured Matt, he recognizes him as the only non violent merc of the group and nurses him until he is well again. The three of them then join ranks with another tribesman of a different group, led by Nkoama (Hector Manthanda) and together using the same weaponry plan Darkov's compound.
The action is bad, the acting is bad, with poor production values with a predictable script that could have been made on a whim. The only thing that looked real are perhaps some of the explosions which does not say much. It's only intended for viewers who do not watch any movies in general. BOMB.
