The version that survives abruptly ends when Xenia and Bicchi decide to leave for Nice on a yacht. According to the critic in La Critique cinématographique of March 3, 1928, Bozzi shoots Bicchi as they are escaping. Xenia nurses him in Nice and when he is cured, they decide to go back to Corsica.
