Interesting hospital drama with Enrico Maria Salerno and Senta Berger
This unusual Italian film is about corrupt mafia doctors in white. The professor (Gabriele Ferzetti) of a renowned clinic plays an ambiguous game and turns out to be not at all a demigod in white. But as long as his assistant doctors (Enrico Maria Salerno) are on the lookout, he has nothing to fear. The great Cinecitta diva Senta Berger only has a small role here, but delivers the decisive accents as Sister Maria.
With this unusual approach, director Luigi Zampa made it into the competition at Cannes in 1973.
The later LA PIOVRA star Vittorio Mezzogiorno, who bravely continued Commissario Cattani's fight from the fourth season onwards, plays a small role as a journalist.
Hospital drama worth seeing that has something different to offer than the usual poliziotteschi!
