Anecdotes
This was the first film of a five picture deal for Lucinda Dickey who Menahem Golan wanted to make her a star very badly. The other films in the deal included Break, les danseurs de la rue (1984), Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo (1984), Breakin' 3, which was planned but fell apart, King Solomon's Mines and its sequel, Allan Quartermain And The Lost City of Gold. The latter three films didn't happen for her because she felt that both she and Cannon Films were totally tired of each other at that point.

Gaffes
After the evil ninja comes out of the lake he is soaked from head to toe. In the next shot, he continues to fight police officers and is bone dry.

Autres versions
The film was cut by 1 min 12 secs for its UK cinema release to remove all footage of metal throwing stars. All cuts were waived for the 2015 video release.

Lucinda Dickey's back

This is a pretty silly film, including what may well be the least erotic come-on ever to make it to the big screen (the heroine pours V-8 all over herself and invites the hero to lick it off -- yuck!). And yet it also features the resplendent Lucinda Dickey in what is far and away her most erotic performance. In those long ago days, women -- even action heroines -- with real muscles were a rarity, and I can still remember the way my jaw dropped when Dickey took off her shirt, revealing the most powerfully built female back and biceps I'd ever seen. Dickey's beauty and vitality carry the film: she could have been a female Schwarzenegger if anybody had had the vision to promote her.
