It begins with a medieval-historial setting in which a witch : Maria Isbert makes a magic potion to conquer women . Many centuries after , dealing with Simon Giménez: Alfredo Landa, who inherites a love elixir made up by an ancestor . After breaking his girlfriend : Mary Paz Pondal who abandones him to play as an actress, Simon starts working as a book seller , but things go wrong . Then , Simon meets a famous Spaghetti Western actress : Rosanna Yanni who unexplaingly falls for him . Later on , Simon becomes a sex symbol , being pursued by several beautiful ladies . As a large number of women are infatuated and fall for his sex appeal and one of them results to be his gorgeous chief : Ingrid Garbo .
Ordinary Alfredo Landa movie , giving his regular status of low-quality actor comedy with usual ingredients as crazy events, silly humor , naughty situations , ridiculous incidents and Landa as as the typical unfortunate seducer . After directing the succesful "No Desearas El Vecino Del Quinto" , Ramon Fernández joined forces again with Alfredo for this amusing comedy . Alfredo Landa was one of the most prolific actors playing more than 100 films , in fact he created a new sub-genre : the Landismo , thanks to his amusing as well as absurd comedies . At the beginning he worked as a notorious secondary with titles as Atraco a Las Tres or Novios 68 .Subsequently , playing main roles as Cateto a Babor , Vente a Alemania Pepe , and many others , most of them directed by Pedro Lazaga , Mariano Ozores and Ramon Fernández. In the Eighties he began to be given dramatic characters , in which he managed to leave the habitual hilarious second-class characters he had so far . From now on , and thanks to Mario Camus who directed him in Los Santos Inocentes , or Jose Luis Cuerda in Bosque Animado , and Crack I and Crack 2 by Jose Luis García, getting big succesess and Awards . And adding for television the prestigious series Don Quijote de La Mancha by Manuel Gutierrez Aragon . Along with Landa, here appears several attractive actresses as Ingrid Garbo , Rosanna Yanni , Mirta Miller , Aurora De Alba , Josele Roman and familiar secondaries , such as : Roberto Camardiel, Goyo Lebrero , Luis Barbero , Rafaela Aparicio, Venancio Muro Eduardo Calvo, Xan Das Bolas , Cris Huerta as a director of Spaghetti Westerns in Sergio Leone style, among others .
The motion picture was professionally directed by Ramon Fernández. He was a good craftsman expert on Spanish comedy. His film debut thanks to producer Vicente Escriva was Aqui Estan Las Vicetiples, following a string of comedies as Ahi Va Otro Recluta, Matrimonio al Desnudo, Doctor Me Gustan Las Mujeres, and this Simon that was an essential and fundamental representation of the Landismo phenomenon. Ramon went on filmming the successful sentimental comedy Margarita Se Llama Mi Amor with Mercedes Alonso . And of course, No Desearas Vecino Del Quinto or Thou Shalt not covet the Fifth floor Neighbour that was the biggest boxoffice at the time. Although Ramon Fernandez also made other genres as Paella Western : Mujeres De Jeremias, Kiddies movies : Adventures of Enrique and Cristo Del Oceano. And a thriller : Rueda De Sospechosos , at his best.
