Comedy. A direct continuation of the most popular Soviet musical comedy of the fifties "Soldier Ivan Brovkin", released on the big screens three years after the original by popular demand of workers. And once I looked at the first part, I was obliged to look at the second, because it is here that the story of the wayward Ivan Brovkin ends. I'll even say the scary thing - I liked the second part even more than the first. And here's my brief opinion for you - The Wayward Ivan is mastering the virgin land. There is not a single minus in the picture, but there are more than enough pluses so that you pay attention to this classic of Soviet cinema. Therefore, I finish the much-needed introduction, and turn to these very advantages.
So, here they are: 1. Scenario - in the center of the story we have again a bad-tempered village guy Ivan Brovkin, who, after demobilization from the army, decided to go to develop virgin lands in the Orenburg region. And everything would be fine, but only in the village his bride and mother are waiting for him, who are not happy about this turn of events, and blame Vanya for everything. Therefore, together with an army comrade and other Komsomol members, he sets off on a journey, not yet knowing what fate is preparing for him and what wonderful people he will meet in the boundless steppes of Orenburg. The scenario of the second part is much deeper and more elaborated, because we were presented with new characters, clearly written off from real people, showed real virgin land, where they shot the picture, showed all the facets of the human heart and character. They showed young Komsomol members who strengthened the Soviet Union with their work. The dialogues are lively, there are no unnecessary scenes, in an hour and a half they showed the inspiring story of a whole generation of Soviet people who can be proud of, and who have earned honor and respect, and from whom it is worth taking an example.
2. Virgin land - here, as in the paintings "The First Echelon", "It started like this", "Alyonka", "The Taste of bread", the topic of the development of virgin land was raised, which became at the same time the most famous decision of the Corn Worker as first secretary of the CPSU Central Committee and the anthem to the heroism of Komsomol members, and at the same time a great catastrophe for the entire rural the economy of the Soviet Union, what was said back then, dear Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Molotov. Nevertheless, the topic of virgin lands in my family is not an empty sound, because several of my closest relatives just in those years went to develop these very virgin lands and actually built a powerful infrastructure from scratch, specifically in the Kazakh SSR. And this picture shows the work of Komsomol members, who became the heroes of virgin lands. Yes, even if the script did not focus on everything, yes, the difficulties were not much mentioned, and there is no sound criticism of the development of virgin lands, but this is socialist realism, you understand yourself. I am sure that now no one will shoot a picture about those events, time has changed, and there are no sensible directors and screenwriters. And if they do, they will once again get an anti-Soviet propaganda campaign, which can only be viewed in the review of Evgeny Bazhenov.
3. Social Realism - and the second part of the adventures of Ivan Brovkin is a vivid example of the genre of "social realism", which I simply adore. This is almost a communist paradise, a utopia, the final stage of the construction of communism, when all the troubles are in the past, and now it remains only to improve oneself and lead other peoples to the same happiness. Yes, it was a little different in life, and I know it well, because my grandmother (God rest her soul!) she talked a lot about the Soviet village and about all the difficulties and joys that she managed to find, and she wandered around a huge country. And, as I have said more than once, I want to believe in socialist realism, I want to live as well as the heroes of the picture, that there is justice in the USSR, that the beloved girl will wait for her Ivan Brovkin, that even a bad guy can turn into a production leader and a knight of the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, I want to believe that after such a flight to the Moon or Mars is a completely trivial matter, because Komsomol members are the real elite of the Country of the Soviets, who will do the impossible, and their relatives will always support them in any endeavors.
4. Music - songs this time I not only liked, so one of them even sunk into my soul. I'm talking about a song about Komsomol members of the thirties, who were inspired by the explorers of virgin lands. A powerful and inspiring song performed by Konstantin Alexandrovich Sinitsin makes you involuntarily feel respect and awe in front of these people.
A little about the main characters: 1. Ivan Brovkin, performed by Leonid Kharitonov, is a retired sergeant of the Soviet Army, and later a brigadier of Tselinnikov, who expressed a desire to go to the Orenburg region and take part in a grand event. During the time of the painting, he manages to get rid of his badness and turn into a production leader. Yes, Leonid Vladimirovich has managed to get in shape in three years, and it looks a little comical, but still it does not affect his image in any way. Bravo!
2. Zakhar Silych performed by Mikhail Pugovkin is a sailor of the merchant fleet of the USSR, who went to the virgin lands after his beloved. My favorite character from the first part has reappeared here in order to finish his story victoriously. A cheerful sailor, with the necessary skills, whom Vanya Brovkin will now teach life, and not vice versa. Mikhail Ivanovich was great again. Bravo!
3. Sergey Barabanov, played by Konstantin Sinitsyn, is the director of the Komsomolsky state farm in the Orenburg region, who will become almost like a father to Vanya Brovkin, because he will teach a lot, and most importantly, make him an exemplary worker and an advanced worker of production. Konstantin Alexandrovich coped with the role perfectly. Bravo!
The second part was met by the audience even better than the first, but they did not do the third, because the story of Ivan Brovkin had already been told and everything was revealed, so Soviet viewers, and now Russians (along with citizens of the former USSR) now only have to review the adventures of the wayward Ivan Brovkin, laugh and be touched by everything that is happening on the screen.
That's the end of the Soviet marathon. It was awesome and very curious. It will be necessary to arrange another one, but later.
As a result, we have a great continuation of an excellent comedy, with a high-quality script, vivid images, great songs, and great acting.
My rating is 10 out of 10 and my recommendation for viewing!
