The game have become VERY unstable on modern computers. This is something that I have experienced personally, and have seen A LOT of other people write about. On top of periodically frequent crashes, I experienced not only once, but twice, that Save Games stopped being possible to load (shortly) after the end of the main quest! In my experience neither loading older Save Games or reinstalling the game helped!
The creators blame newer computers and OS'es. But Oblivion, a game that naturally are older than Nehrim, since Nehrim is based on Oblivion... works (mostly) just fine on my I7 7700-based computer...
Another problem with Nehrim is that it in my eyes is very pompus: There are monologue after monologue after monologue that drags on several places in the game.
There are also the standard game padding where you get a mission in one place, and have to travel to one or several locations in different places, perform tasks/find something/kill someone or something, and then return back to where you came from on the other side of the map...! The game padding consisting of having to use A LOT of time managing your inventory and consider what to pick up or not, what to sell, and so on is also present of course...
And to my big irritation: Several locations in the game are virtual mazes where you quickly end up running in circles before you manage to find your way through!
My score of five stars almost gives me a guilty conscience considering that this game after all is free. But I just can not let that influence how the game is, and how it is to play, it must after all be compared to other games and the game that it is based on.
But if you liked playing Oblivion and have some spare time, and perhaps even an older computer with a more suitable OS than Windows 10 to play this game on, I still recommend that you try out this game: You might be luckier than me and others and not experience frequent crashes, and you might like the pompousness and the long monologues better than me. And let's not forget: The game is FREE if you already own Oblivion, and despite all of it's flaws, it is still worth playing even if it at times is very irritating!
