Anecdotes
A promotional poster for the film features a street sign with a one eye logo and a phone number to call to report "abnormal activity". The number is 1-800-517-5890 and when called, a recorded message with a woman's voice would say, "Thank you for calling the abnormal defense hotline, provided by the Department of Homeland Security." The recorded message at first urged others to be on the lookout for "freaks" and it said that you can leave a message to report any abnormal activity from freaks. A few days later, the recorded message was changed to warn others to stay away from an upcoming San Diego Comic Con "free underground prescreening of Freaks" on July 18, 2019.

Gaffes
Agent Ray says to Henry, "I can still smell the hydrogen peroxide on your face." Hydrogen peroxide is an odourless compound, which breaks down into oxygen and water: both odourless. Agent Ray would not be able to smell any trace of the peroxide.

Excellent storytelling.

Yes the basic plot isn't particularly original, but it the way in which the story is told that has this movie stands out. Movies don't necessarily have to have original plots to be good, they just have to have something about them that is original or intriguing. This movie succeeds with its point of view and tone. It's also unusual to have young children under 10 as the stars in such films and boy does this little star nail her performance. We'll be seeing more of her as she ages I imagine. Worth watching just for her performance alone.
