On 13th August 2018 the BBC announced that it had commissioned KEO Films to produce an 8-episode second series of the cookery competition with the same presenters and judges. However, in January 2019 one of the show's judges, Dan Doherty, announced that he was stepping away from the show. This followed allegations of sexual misconduct made against Doherty by a female member of staff at the gastropub he owns. On 8th March 2019 the BBC announced that Michelin-starred chef Angela Hartnett would replace Doherty for the second series, that the show would be re-formatted and that series two would be broadcast in early 2020.
