This is another of my favorite Rifftrax episodes, in a way the whole film was made to be riffed on. There's been bad action films in my time, but this film just about takes the blue ribbon. This film has more misfires than that terrible fifth season of "24". Strangely this film is more enjoyable than that season.
One of the misfires are the action scenes which are halfway decent but like I said halfway. Like there is that shoot out in the parking lot and one of the main villains is armed with an Uzi an Grenades and unloads both, form how close he was I was thinking, "Wow so many explosions and the guy can't' shoot or throw for crap." Also, the title is a bit of false advertisement as their really isn't much about the main character the suggests he's a samurai, though he does Martial Arts if not very well and uses the katana but only a couple of times.
Locations are also strange and incorrect lie there is one shootout scene where both characters are supposed to be in, I assume the front yard of the main bad guys mansion (actually house since they probably couldn't rent a real one out) but it's not a front yard it's actually is a public park as I notice a couple of the "Horse Shoe" bins.
The riffs are great there are plenty of memorable ones like during a car chase, some of the battle sequences including the final battle when the main hero finally gets the use a katana which took forever to get to; though I wouldn't say it helped much as the choreography much like in the other fights looks clearly off. Each word the crew says during those sequences just like a well sharpened sword just cuts like butter which tastes of sweet hilarity. And of course, there is the "Samurai Cop" song at the end of this movie that the "Rifftrax" crew sings, that song is another of my favorite songs from "Rifftrax", this is a song that would be both fun and hilarious to sing on Karaoke Night.
"Samurai Cop" from "Rifftrax" is a cut above comidy.
Rating: 4 stars.
