Gaffes
While speaking about the Spirit of St Lewis being rejected by the USA, she says most of the passengers perished in the holocaust. That is inaccurate in fact all but 200 of the nearly 1000 survived the war once returning to eastern Europe. It's a fact that the shipping company knew before they departed Europe the immigration policy in their destination had changed but no one informed the passengers. Denial entry into the USA and Canada was far less to do with religion than it was the Great Depression. if you are unable to feed and house the people you have, adding more would be irresponsible. The passengers for the St Louis actually fared better than most people caught up in the holocaust and horrors of WW2 Facts matter when talking about the holocaust.

For the first two sections

First became aware of film by noticing information about the second section, brute, which is about a German Shepherd dog taken from his Jewess owner as a puppy and turned into a concentration guard dog by the Nazis . Finally connected Brute with the tree part film and watched from the beginning.

The first section " Shoes " is a cleverly photographed and directed piece about a woman who gets to own a pair of bright red shoes , how she got them and what happens to her.

Second sections deals with the grown up dog. Third section ties together some loose ends.

First section is very good tho it needs to be seen with Brute which is powerful to be appreciated.

Last section is weak.. Best for human to human and human / animal relationships of first two stories would have been a 9 with a strong final act.
